During his working trip from 29 October to 1 November in Cuba, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Georgy Kalamanov took part in the opening of the Russian exposition organized in the "fields" of the 35th International Havana Fair FIHAV.

Trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Cuba is dynamically developing in different directions.

"Relations between our countries are developing very dynamically. Especially it concerns such directions as automotive industry and transport engineering, - he said. - We hope to reach major projects in the field of development of railways in Cuba in the near future "

In addition, according to Georgy Kalamanov, the modernization of the Cuban metallurgical plant Antilliana de Acero named after José Martí will continue, and cooperation in the chemical and light industry will be enhanced.

In turn, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba, Rodrigo Malmierca, noted that the trade turnover between Russia and Cuba has grown significantly in recent years.

"This is facilitated both by the political will of the leadership of our states, and by the granting of loans to Russia for our country ," he said at the opening of the Russian exposition.

Rodrigo Malmierca pointed out that Russian and Cuban enterprises are implementing major joint projects in such areas as energy and transport, primarily railway.

We are confident that in the coming years our economic cooperation will be further strengthened. The Cuban market is open for trade relations with Russia, and our heart is for friendship with your country

said the Minister.
