Alexander Kozlov discussed with the Minister of Trade and Industry of the Republic of India the development of tourism in the Primorsky Territory

The Minister of Trade and Industry of the Republic of India, Piyush Goyal, arrived in Vladivostok as part of a business mission. Together with the Minister, 5 state ministers of India, members of the Parliament of the Republic arrived in the Far Eastern capital. On the Russian side, the delegation was led by the Minister for Development of the Far East and the Arctic, Alexander Kozlov.

Representatives of India noted that the popularity of Primorsky Krai as a tourist destination today is growing rapidly. Therefore, businessmen of the Republic are interested in coastal tourism projects. One of the promising sites of Vladivostok for the implementation of such projects - Novik Bay, was demonstrated to Mr. Piyush Goyal.

“One of the functions of our ministry is to accompany and support investment projects in the Far East. If an Indian investor invests in infrastructure and attracts Indian tourists, we will only be happy. The main thing is to ensure the passenger flow of tourists from India who can use these services, ”said Alexander Kozlov.

According to experts, one of the incentives for the development of inbound tourism in the Far East was the introduction of an electronic visa mechanism. Since August 2017, more than 108 thousand applications for applying for an electronic visa have been submitted.

Also, on the first day of the business mission in Vladivostok, guests visited the Mariinsky Theater seaside stage and the oceanarium. It is these sites, according to officials of the Republic, that can become a center of attraction for tourists from India. Delegations said that representatives of all the oceans and climatic zones of the Earth live in the aquarium. Expositions are constantly updated, since this month alone more than 300 representatives of tropical fish from Vietnam settled here.

Such a large business mission from India first visits the Primorsky Territory. More than a hundred delegates will discuss prospects for the development of Russian-Indian business, businessmen and officials will be told about promising projects in the Far East. The plenary meeting of the business mission will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev.
