ANO API will help in the implementation of tourism projects in Kamchatka

The Far East Investment Promotion and Export Support Agency (ANO API) attracts investors to co-finance tourism projects in the Kamchatka Territory.

“Kamchatka has tremendous tourist potential. But in order for the tourists to be comfortable, that they want to come back to the region, we need comfortable hotels, understandable and convenient logistics. Work in this direction goes. In mid-June, the renewed passenger terminal of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Airport opened. In a couple of years, a modern airport terminal will be built. New hotels are emerging, projects are being launched in the tourism sector, ”said Leonid Petukhov, General Director of ANO API.

According to him, the Agency is working on the possibility of launching new cruise routes with European tour operators, attracting investors to infrastructure modernization projects. “We see an increase in tourist flow. But it can be many times more, ”stressed Leonid Petukhov. This year at least 18 ship calls are planned to the port of Petropavlovsk. In particular, due to this growing number of American tourists. This was discussed at the last meeting of the Russian-American Pacific Partnership (RAPP) in Khabarovsk. “The demand for the flight Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky - Anchorage continues to grow. Cruise itineraries offered by American companies are also in demand, ”said RAPP Executive Director Derek Norberg .

ANO API helped to structure the project and form a concept to attract potential investors. Another project is the creation of a tourism cluster at the Blue Lagoon recreation center. The investor has already received the status of a resident of TOP. The possibility of attracting financial institutions and banks to the project is being worked out. The possibility of opening a resort complex in the region is considered by investors from Hong Kong. The Sun Group holding is considering the prospect of building a complex of balneological resort and sanatorium facilities, including a hotel with 300 beds, medical and sanatorium facilities. According to Roman Sementsov, Director for Transport and Logistics Infrastructure of the Investment Department of ANO API, special attention is paid to the modernization of existing hotels and the construction of new hotel complexes. "This is the construction of a VIP chalet, large hotel complexes and mini-hotels. We are working with a business model with an investor, looking for a site for construction, helping with obtaining the status of a resident of TOR or a free port, ”he specified.

It should be noted that currently 134 units of collective accommodation facilities have been registered in Kamchatka, in which 6,175 beds have been organized, in the industry about 6 thousand people are employed. 69 tour operators and 208 agent companies are currently working on the tourist services market in the region. In the next three years, in Kamchatka it is planned to create in addition more than 500 rooms in collective accommodation facilities.
