The Far East Investment Promotion and Export Support Agency (ANO API) is ready to provide organizational and methodological support for launching projects in the arctic regions of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).

According to Taras Popov, director of ANO API for interaction with state bodies and regions, the draft Strategy for the Socio-Economic Development of the Arctic Zone of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for the period up to 2030 was discussed in Yakutsk. At a special session with the participation of representatives of regional authorities, entrepreneurs, scientists and the expert community, the development of 13 regions of Yakutia within the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation was discussed. Discussions were held in five areas - "Man in the Arctic", "Spatial Development", "Development of local production, small and medium enterprises", "Implementation of large investment and infrastructure projects", "Ecology, science, international projects."

“We considered ideas on the development of the social sphere, improving the quality of life and the economy. Discussions were devoted to the development of the transport system, the introduction of new measures to support small and medium-sized businesses, and the stimulation of the launch of new investment projects. New formats have been proposed that can be effective for remote and hard-to-reach territories. For example, one of the teams proposed the “Nomadic Doctor” project for organizing medical visits to the Arctic regions. Our Agency is open for discussion of “Arctic” projects, we are ready to work them out together with regional authorities and development institutions, ”Taras Popov clarified.

The strategy of socio-economic development of the Arctic zone of Yakutia provides for the implementation of large investment projects, including the development of promising deposits of tin, gold in the Yansky group of areas, diamonds and rare earth metals in the Western Arctic, coal in the Kolyma group, the construction of strategic roads Anabar, Yana "," Verkhoyanye "," Sebian ", section of the road" Green Cape - the border of the Chukotka Autonomous Region ", projects on the advanced development of river economy, marine economic complex, including modernization of the port infrastructure and reconstruction of the berthing facilities of the main ports of the coastal areas of the Arctic zone. For the development of tourism, the growth potential of tourist traffic and the formation of tours that combine elements of ecological, scientific, sports, hunting and fishing tourism will be evaluated.

As Taras Popov recalled, ANO IPA plans to develop a unified investment strategy for all the Far Eastern regions. One of the components of the document should be regional strategies. Currently, the Agency, together with the Far Eastern regions, is discussing regional strategies and is considering promising projects for further support. “The agency helps to attract investors to Yakutia. Now, together with the republic, we are evaluating promising projects, the launch and support of which can have a significant impact on changes in the economy and the social sphere, and thus help change people's lives, ”he explained.
