Expanded list of countries for e-visa

The Russian government has expanded the list of foreign countries whose citizens, when arriving in Russia through the checkpoints of the free port of Vladivostok, receive visas in the form of an electronic document. Now citizens of Taiwan will be able to use the electronic visa. The corresponding document is published on the official website of the Cabinet.

Previously, citizens of 18 foreign countries had the opportunity to receive electronic visas to visit the Far East. These are Algeria, Bahrain, Brunei, India, Iran, Qatar, PRC, DPRK, Kuwait, Morocco, Mexico, UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Tunisia, Turkey and Japan.

β€œIn order to intensify trade and economic ties, tourist and cultural-humanitarian exchanges with Taiwan, attract additional investments in the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District, Taiwan signed the order,” the document says.

The application for an electronic visa is accepted on a specialized website. This must be done four days before the intended entry. Electronic visa is issued free of charge, without consular fees.

The mechanism of electronic visas has been operating in the FEFD since August 2017. During this time, with the help of a simplified visa regime, more than 60 thousand foreigners visited the Far East. Since the beginning of the year, over 16 thousand foreign citizens have taken advantage of visas. Most often, applications for visas are filed by citizens of China and Japan.

Recall that today with the help of an electronic visa you can arrive in six Far Eastern regions. There are air check points in Vladivostok (Knevichi), Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Yelizovo), Blagoveshchensk, Khabarovsk (New), Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (Khomutovo), Anadyr (Ugolny). In the three regions - Primorsky Krai, on Kamchatka and Sakhalin - sea checkpoints operate. By e-visa in Primorye, you can arrive at the Pogranichny, Hassan, Makhalino railway checkpoints, Poltavka and Turiy Rog automobile checkpoints.
