Far Eastern hectare enables farmers of Transbaikalia to increase production volumes

During the first month of the implementation of the Far Eastern Hectare program in Transbaikalia, more than 3 thousand applications for the provision of a free land plot were received from residents of the region. There are also farmers among the applicants who plan to expand an existing business through the program.

The farm of Daria Kustova has been working in the Shilkinsky district of the Transbaikal Territory since 2011 and during this time has gone from a personal subsidiary farm to a livestock farm of a wide profile. The farm of Daria Kustova produces and sells meat, milk, cream and cottage cheese, as well as beekeeping products. Daria regularly takes part in regional agricultural fairs and exhibitions, has her own outlet in the regional center and is constantly working to expand the market for her products.

“The growth of production, its expansion is an important and necessary thing, both for the farmers themselves and for consumers,” says Daria Kustova. - The launch of the Far Eastern Hectare program in Transbaikalia gave our economy a good chance to expand our business, revise the project’s economy, and build new plans for the future. I filed a collective application for the provision of a plot - and now I have eight hectares received under the program - one of the first in the region. It happened on August 1, and the contract for the provision of land was signed by me a week later, on August 7. The whole process of registration by the authorized bodies went quickly and smoothly. ”

According to Daria, in 2018, her farm was able to increase production of dairy products in general by 30%, and meat production by 25% compared to last year. The land received under the Far Eastern Hectare program gives it the opportunity to look with optimism at the near future. Daria Kustova’s plans are to expand the territory under the feed base, to build a new barn and milking parlor on the hectares so as to enter the production of 500 liters of processed milk per day. In addition, Daria plans to take advantage of the support measures available in the region and has high hopes for a preferential mortgage for recipients of Far Eastern hectares, the appearance of which is expected in the near future. Daria plans to build a house on the new sites received in August - closer to production, not far from the new farm.

The Far Eastern Hectare program is implemented in the Trans-Baikal Territory in three stages. The first six months, land is provided only to residents of the region on the territory of this region. Then, on February 1, 2020, all Far Easterners will be able to register the plots, and from August 1, 2020, land in Transbaikalia and Buryatia under the Far Eastern Hectare program will be available to all Russians, as well as to participants in the State program to facilitate the voluntary resettlement of compatriots to the Russian Federation living abroad.

Registration of the Far Eastern hectare is free of charge, via the Internet on the website of the Federal Information System “Far East. Russian Federation”. During the first year, the applicant must determine the type of use of the site, after three years - to declare the progress of development. By the end of the five-year period of use, a citizen can obtain land for free or in a long lease.
