Foreign investors show interest in Rosneft’s Arctic projects

Efficient development of the Arctic zone of Russian definitely requires support, Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin said

Investors from Western countries and Southeast Asia take interest in Arctic projects of Rosneft, Chief Executive Officer of the Russian oil major Igor Sechin said on Monday at the meeting with President Vladimir Putin.

"Consolidated assets [the Arctic Cluster - TASS] will become the center for attracting strategic investors. We are already working on this aspect. The largest Western and Southeast Asian investors showed interest. This will definitely create conditions for accelerated mobilization of resources and comprehensive development of related industries. Efficient development of the Arctic zone of Russian definitely requires support," Sechin said.

Creation of lucrative conditions for investments, fiscal and regulatory in the first instance, and provision of guaranteed stability for these projects throughout their lifetime is of exceptional importance for projects launch, the top manager said. "This will be the condition of attracting further investors, especially foreign investors," Sechin added.
