A Memorandum On The Joint Organization Of The Series Of Events "The Russian-Mongolian Initiative-2018" Was Signed

On February 26, 2018, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturovheld a meeting with the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia Batzhargalyn Batzorig.

During the conversation, Denis Manturov noted that the potential of cooperation between our countries has not been fully implemented, but there are all the necessary prerequisites for increasing the volume of bilateral trade in the short term.

In 2017, bilateral trade amounted to 1368.1 million dollars, while Russia's exports to Mongolia amounted to 1326.9 million dollars, and imports - 41.2 million US dollars

said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.

The parties touched upon the organization of a series of events "The Russian-Mongolian Initiative - 2018" as a platform for activating the entire range of bilateral cooperation, designed to become the largest event aimed at developing and strengthening trade, economic, industrial and investment cooperation between Russia and Mongolia. Within the framework of this event, the products of Russian agricultural machinery, automotive industry, aviation industry will be presented, as well as a fair of Russian consumer goods.

The Minister said that invitations to participate in the events of the Russian-Mongolian Initiative-2018 were sent to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, JSC Helicopters of Russia, PJSC UAC, Russian Railways, Rossete, Rostek , JSC "REC", CCI of Russia. The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation suggested holding a presentation of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 in Mongolia.

The meeting also touched upon the issues of Russian-Mongolian cooperation in the field of agricultural engineering, in particular, the successful implementation of a project to extend credit to the Mongolian Development Bank from Vnesheconombank for the purchase of Russian agricultural equipment.

Denis Manturov noted that the largest Russian producers of agricultural machinery are interested in working in the rapidly developing Mongolian direction.

In 2018, in cooperation with the Mongolian side, the possibility of continuing the implementation of the project for the supply of agricultural machinery to Mongolia with the involvement of Russian financial institutions

the Minister noted.

Denis Manturov also noted that effective instruments for financing foreign trade transactions have been developed and are being implemented in the interests of potential customers with state support. Foreign counterparts are offered rather comfortable delivery terms using the export credit scheme.

In addition, the Minister invited the Mongolian side to attend the annual international industrial exhibition "Innoprom-2018", which will be held in Yekaterinburg on July 9-12, 2018.

At the end of the meeting, Denis Manturov and the head of the Mongolian Organizing Committee for the series of events "Mongolian-Russian Initiative-2018", member of the Great State Hural of Mongolia,  Byambasurengiin Enkh-Amgalan, signed the relevant Memorandum of Understanding.
