More than 160 Kamchatka investment projects will be supported by ANO IPA

The Far East Investment Promotion and Export Support Agency (ANO IPA) will provide organizational and methodological support to 161 projects in the Kamchatka Territory with an estimated investment volume of 346.8 billion rubles in 6 priority areas.

“The agency acts as a catalyst. We help investors implementing projects in Kamchatka, attract new ones. For support, in addition to the projects that we already support in the region, we selected 161 projects in the field of mining of solid minerals, tourism, electricity, the fishing industry and aquaculture, agriculture, and logistics, ”said the director of ANO IPA for interaction with state bodies and regions Taras Popov.

According to him, this includes 68 logistics projects with an investment volume of 150 billion rubles, 39 tourism projects with an investment volume of 63 billion rubles, 45 projects in the fishing industry and agriculture with an investment volume of about 31 billion rubles. “If we talk about the most interesting projects for investors, then, in my opinion, these are projects in the field of solid mining and tourism. This, in particular, is shown by the memorandum of cooperation, concluded a week ago in Vladivostok between the Kamchatka Territory and the Indian state of Goa, where these areas are designated as priority, ”Taras Popov noted, recalling that the Indian company Tata Power has already acquired a license to develop the Krutogorovskoye field.

As explained by Taras Popov, the Agency separately supports projects for the development of tourist destinations in the region. “Our Agency’s portfolio included a number of projects for the construction of hotels, balneological complexes, and now we have taken on support a number of additional ones. Among the promising areas we see the construction of city hotels and suburban SPA, entertainment and shopping centers. But the main thing is not individual projects. We want to bring the tourism sector in Kamchatka to a qualitatively different level. We are currently negotiating with Icelandic companies to develop a tourism development program. Previously, we held negotiations with representatives of the Icelandic Tourist Board, the Promote Iceland company, the consulting companies Islenska and Gamma. The next stage of discussions will be held on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum. We also hope that we will be able to arrange a visit of our Icelandic partners to Kamchatka so that they can see the region with their own eyes, ”said the representative of ANO IPA.

According to Taras Popov, the Agency relies on young people from the region. “We want to attract young people, to give them the opportunity to realize their potential. For several years in a row we have an internship program. Two trainees from Kamchatka are currently practicing I hope that following the results of the program we will have new representatives in the region, ”he said.

Recall that ANO IPA plans to develop a unified investment strategy for all Far Eastern regions. Currently, investment strategies are being developed for each region. These strategies will be included in a single common document.
