A New Era of Production: Production, Nature-Like Technologies And Their Role In The Agenda Under The Project For Sustainable Development Until 2030

The key event of the first day of GMIS-2019 was a plenary session with the participation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

 

The head of state, speaking of Russia's approaches to solving common fundamental problems determining global development, said:

 

Now, large-scale science and technology programs are being launched in Russia, and they will have a powerful environmental, environmental dimension, including such areas as artificial intelligence, new materials, genomic technologies and “clean” solutions for agriculture, technology of its transfer and storage. To realize these objectives, we intend to attract the potential of our leading companies with state participation.

 

Minister of Energy of the United Arab Emirates, Suheil Mohamed Al Mazrui, Chief Executive Officer of the Group, Managing Director of Mubadala Investment Company Khaldun Khalifa Al-Mubarak, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Lee Yong and Minister of Industry also took part in the discussion of the agenda of the plenary meeting. and trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.

 

Participants of the event noted problems and increasing uncertainty in today's world - globalization, economic stagnation, social unrest, trade wars, unpredictability of politics and economy in individual countries.

 

Suheil Mohamed Al Mazrui, Minister of Energy of the United Arab Emirates, addressing the participants, said: “We are trying to unite all countries and private companies in an effort to share knowledge, new technologies and investment in industrial production for the sustainable development of the world. To achieve the goals of sustainable development, we diversified the economy, due to which our dependence on oil in the country's GDP decreased to 30%. In 2017, we adopted a strategy to rely on renewable energy sources - the sun and a peaceful atom, which will allow us to reduce CO2 emissions by 17% by 2050. We are developing an adopted strategy - this is our success story. ”

 

According to Lee Yong, General Director of UNIDO, GMIS is an important forum for solving global issues. The head of UNIDO drew attention to the fact that the Fourth Industrial Revolution is not only new opportunities, but also new problems, and the main one is the reduction of jobs. According to the forecasts of the organization, by 2030, 20 million jobs may disappear only because of the appearance of robots. “We need a comprehensive development strategy and UNIDO is trying to help technological progress by promoting new opportunities,” said Li Yong.

 

Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, in his speech at the plenary meeting, noted that the industrial revolution opens up new opportunities for meeting the goals of sustainable development. According to the minister, the most promising areas are nature-like technologies. In Russia, about 10% of companies are actively introducing IT-technologies, artificial intelligence, digital format into their production processes, and 40% of companies are potentially ready for this.

 

At the same time, the question of the loss of jobs in connection with the use of the latest technologies in Russian companies is not worth

- the minister specified. 

 

The country has a strategy of its own industry, but at the same time we are open for cooperation and ready for cooperation. We invite investors and look forward to their common sense.

Khaldun Khalifa Al-Mubarak, Group Chief Executive Officer, spoke about the possibilities of working in Russia with an investment fund. He noted that the fund works in 50 countries with 15 industries and is actively looking for areas where there may be new opportunities. Since 2010, the foundation has been interacting in Russia with the RDIF - currently it is hundreds of millions of dollars. According to the speaker, human intelligence is the basis for the development of modern technologies. Over the next 10 years, the influence of artificial intelligence will be felt in all sectors. And those who will use these technologies will gain a competitive advantage. In conclusion, the head of the fund said that investments in Russia would continue.
