New investments come to the Chukotka fishing complex

The Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, the Agency of the Far East for attracting investments and export support, the government of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug signed an agreement on the integrated development of the fishing assets of Chukotka, OJSC Chukotrybpromkhoz and LLC Chukotopttorg.

The agreement was signed by the First Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East Sergey Tyrtsev, Governor of the PAO Roman Kopin, General Director of ANO IPA Leonid Petukhov.

The agreement will be implemented as part of the strategy for the development of the fishery complex of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, as well as to ensure the development of Chukotrybpromkhoz OJSC as an anchor enterprise of the Chukotka fishery complex until 2030. The fishery complex will be developed taking into account the consolidation and effective management of organizations - users of quotas for the extraction (catch) of aquatic biological resources owned by the regional government with an aggregate annual catch of more than 50 thousand tons. The volume of investments in the development of Chukotrybpromkhoz OJSC is at least 10 billion rubles until 2030, and the number of new jobs created is at least 1.3 thousand people.

“This is the first step towards implementing the development strategy of the fishery complex of the Chukotka Autonomous Region. We developed this document with the participation of the Ministry of Development of the Far East and the Arctic, the Agency of the Far East for attracting investments and export support and professional experts in the fishing industry. We reported the strategy to the regulator and industry representatives. With the participation of the Agency we will attract investors. According to our estimates, the fishing industry could become the driver of the development of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. Industry science shows that in the Chukchi Sea, creatures of pollock, cod, and cod stocks that have not been recorded previously, as well as crab-shearing opilio, have been discovered, ”said Mikhail Sobolev, Chairman of the PrJSC Government.

The Ministry for the Development and Development of Russia intends to assist the region in realizing the development of the Fishery complex of the ChAO, to ensure interaction with federal authorities, and to provide support within the framework of its powers to Chukotrybpromkhoz OJSC.

ANO IPA plans to attract investors to the fisheries sector, assist in obtaining government support for projects included in the strategy of the PJSC fisheries sector, and will provide support to the regional government in negotiations with potential investors and business partners.
