The Presidential Grants Fund supported a social project in Chita

In Chita, on the basis of the Social Shelter, a special living room has been launched. The project, entitled “I love you, life”, was developed by employees of the Social Shelter of the Trans-Baikal Territory and the charity fund “Heart of St. Seraphim”. About 550 people will take part in the project.

“The most difficult period in the lives of our clients, when they get to a stationary type of institution, are in conditions of social isolation, there is a change in activity due to illnesses and our goal is to adapt a person to new living conditions, create a friendly environment in which he can be realized, adapt to new conditions, ”said Maria Spiridonova, director of the Social Shelter of the Trans-Baikal Territory.

The Presidential Grants Fund has provided 634 thousand rubles for the implementation of the project.  The living room includes four blocks: “Music box”, “Virtual tourism”, “Film! Film! The film! ”,“ Literary Fiction ”. Experts are sure that watching feature films, studying modern literature, talking with volunteers, members of creative teams, librarians and museum workers will allow us to change the stereotypes of thinking of project participants.

“I think we will be able to set up people to look at the world in a new way, on the other hand. That, in a difficult life situation, you need to continue to enjoy life and live as high as possible, make new acquaintances, make new friends, gain interest in a life that will delight and tune in to the best, ”added the director of the shelter.

The living room will be open until September 2020, based on the results of a questionnaire, which will assess how much the organizers managed to achieve their goals.
