The Production Of Passenger Carriages Of Locomotive Traction Increased By 91.5% In 2017

 The production of locomotive traction passenger cars increased by 91.5% in 2017 compared to 2016. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Alexander Morozov during the final General Meeting of the Association of Railway Machinery Manufacturers (OPWT). He made a report and awarded awards to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

According to the Deputy Minister, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia actively participates in the development of domestic railroad engineering, supporting both producers and buyers. On the other hand, the effective interaction of JSCo «Russian Railways» and the OPWT, the joint work of all market participants and industry have made it possible to achieve significant results.

As compared to 2016, the railway rolling stock market grew by more than 35%. Production of subway cars and wagons for electric trains - more than 20%; Freight cars increased by almost 60%; trams - more than 107%. Exports of products increased by more than 18%.

In 2018, measures of state support for transport engineering will be aimed at renewing the fleet of innovative specialized freight cars and wagons with an increased axial load of 27 tons, electric cars, and the program for the renewal of tram cars will continue. Also, at present, the program for updating the motor-car rolling stock has been launched.

Alexander Morozov presented awards to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation: V.V. Boitsova to the president of NP OPZhT Valentin Gapanovich, certificates of honor to the first deputy general director of JSC SPC INFOTRANS Oleg Simakov, chief welder of OJSC Tver Railway Car Building Plant Vladimir Meshkov, president of JSC SG-trans Sergey Kaletin, deputy director for marketing and development of civil products - Director of the railway equipment of ELARA JSC Vladislav Milyutin, General Director of ELARA Andrey Uglov, Vice President of NP OPZhT Oleg Senkovsky.

Also, during the final General Meeting, an agreement was signed between the State Research Center of the Russian Federation FSUE NAMI, NP OPZhT and OJSC NIIAS. In the future, it is planned to create a center for the development of competencies in the field of unmanned traffic both in road transport and in the railway.
