As A Result Of Ten Months Of 2017, The Light Industry Demonstrates Steady Growth

 In Moscow was the IV All-Russian Forum of Light Industry. The organizer of the event is the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. On November 29, a plenary session "Legprom - course for the development of the consumer sector" was held in the framework of the Forum with participation of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov .

Opening the plenary session, the Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation stressed that the Forum allows to bring to the common denominator positions of the state and business on the issue of integrated development of light industry.

Such an integrated approach allowed us over the past years to overcome the negative dynamics, to consolidate this positive trend for the ten months of 2017. We achieved good results for the main segments: textile production added 7.6%, leather and footwear - 3.7%, sewing sector - 2.3%

said Denis Manturov .

The minister also noted that the quantitative growth is accompanied by the transition of the industry to a new qualitative level. In terms of preferential leasing for technological renovation of light industry enterprises, nine projects of technical re-equipment worth 2.4 billion rubles were launched this year. The light industry is actively using the opportunities of the Industrial Development Fund (FED), which has already supported 13 branch projects with a total value of 6.3 billion rubles. Half are preferential loans from the FRP.

We already see the objective return on these investments. During the current year, 5 new productions started operating "

said Denis Manturov .

In particular, in August, the company "Russian Skin" in Ryazan, a factory was opened to produce automobile, aviation leather and fur products; in the Ivanovo region the company "Proteks" launched a project to produce fleece cloth; "Navatex" has established the production of modern dressings; in Moscow, the company Ortomoda organized the production of orthopedic area with the use of 3D-technologies; in the Smolensk region, the production of natural furniture and footwear leathers was started.

According to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the industry is being modernized. Leading enterprises are moving into new niches, setting up the production of high-tech fabrics and non-woven materials for the construction of houses and roads, for the needs of agriculture and the automotive industry, the medical and furniture industries.

At the same time, diversification of the product line allows increasing export potential.

For eight months of this year, the volume of supply of light industry products abroad has increased by 15% compared to the previous year. To support this dynamic, light industry enterprises should interact with the Russian Export Center, which today implements a wide program of support for exporters

the Minister said.

In addition, in March 2018 a market of clothes, shoes and accessories "GRAND BAZAR" will open on the Expocenter site.

In conclusion of his speech, the Minister noted:

In August this year, the Russian president held a large meeting in Ryazan on the development of light industry, where he highly assessed the development of the industry. I would like to thank all the workers of the industry for your contribution to the development of the Russian light industry and wish successes for the development of your work

Ivan Stanislav Voskresensky, the governor of the Ivanovo region, thanked Denis Manturov for the attention paid by the Ministry to light industry.

"The industry for many years developed" not thanks, but in spite of ". Now, over the past three years, the situation is completely different. From the collective of the Ivanovo enterprises I thank the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. We hope that support will only increase, " he concluded.

The Governor of the Tver region, Igor Rudenya, noted the good staff potential of the region, in which two of the eight educational institutions are focused on training light industry experts.

"The problem of shortage of mid-level specialists, technologists, power engineers, engineers, other specialists is one of the most acute in the light industry. It is important that these cadres live in the region, they can conduct production activities, growth and education. Our task is to preserve and develop colleges of secondary specialized education, " said Igor Rudenya.

The head of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Rashid Temrezov, reminded the audience that Karachaevo-Cherkessia had been engaged in sheep-breeding since ancient times, which subsequently led to the growth of folk crafts based on the processing of wool and the manufacture of various products.

"According to our expert estimates, about 20% of the republic's population is currently engaged in the production of textile, knitwear and wool processing. The Republic confidently takes the leading positions among the CIS, including - competes with Poland and with China for the production of yarn, " - he concluded.

Petr Fradkov, General Director of JSC "Russian Export Center" also noted the positive dynamics of the industry development.

"Today we see how the light industry is actively developing. We have rebuilt and made the light industry one of the strategic directions. For 9 months we note 800 million dollars of export of goods of the light industry. By the end of the year, we will come up with more than a billion exports of light industry, which will be 10-15 percent more than in 2016. There is an increase in the cost of cotton fabrics: suits, jackets increased by 57%, " he said.

Peter Fradkov said that in general in 2017, 20 companies received support for $ 50 million. These are all types of insurance and lending. In addition, the interest rate subsidy system was worked out, and it is planned to finance the creation and modernization of export-oriented production in the segment of small and medium-sized companies.

The Head of Roskachestvo Maxim Protasov noted that in 2017 22 enterprises of the Russian light industry received state quality marks and noted a significant increase in sales of goods that received this sign.

According to public opinion polls, 73% of Russians want to buy what has been done in Russia.

"It remains only to make consumer patriotism grow into real purchases," he concluded.
