Russia And Bulgaria Discussed Promising Areas Of Interaction Between Countries

As part of a working trip to Bulgaria, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov met with President Rumen Radev and the Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia noted the increase in the quality of trade between countries:

About 20% of Russia's total exports to Bulgaria are formed by non-oil sector products, primarily machinery and equipment. We hope that according to the results of the current year, our trade will continue to grow both quantitatively and qualitatively.

- emphasized Denis Manturov.

Also at a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Boyko Borisov, questions were raised about participation in the Belene NPP project as part of broad international cooperation, fuel labeling, investment cooperation and the implementation of effective cooperation in the most priority areas.

Boyko Borisov said that Bulgaria with Russian participation is starting the construction of part of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline, which runs through the territory of Bulgaria.

The construction of the Turkish Stream begins, during an honest and open procedure, a state-owned company from Saudi Arabia became the executor of the project. While some of us asked about relations with our neighbors, with Russia, with Saudi Arabia, an agreement was signed today. 90% of the pipes for the Turkish Stream have already been delivered to Bulgaria from Russia, and tomorrow we will begin to deliver them along the highway, funding has been secured, 308 km of the gas pipeline will be built before the end of January 2020

- said the Prime Minister of Bulgaria.

The Russian side invited Bulgarian partners to take part in the Russian industrial zone in Egypt, enter it with joint projects, build enterprises and jointly explore the markets of third countries.

Recall that this year the countries celebrate the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries. As Denis Manturov wrote, such milestone dates of a joint history once again emphasize how strong and deep the ties between Russia and Bulgaria are.
