Russia And Slovakia Signed A Number Of International Agreements

 In Moscow held a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Slovak Republic and the Russian Federation, chaired by the Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov and Minister of Economy of the Slovak Peter jig.

The main topic of the meeting was a dialogue about overcoming the recession in the mutual trade turnover.

However, the first months of 2017 give reason to speak of a trend reversal in recent years. Thus, in January-February, according to Russian statistics trade volume increased by more than 40% between the two countries (+ 43.4% compared to the same period in 2016), amounting to 814.5 million dollars.

At the meeting the parties talked the key issues of bilateral cooperation and have concluded that Russian-Slovak relations - good prospects and significant potential.

In particular, in the structure of the intergovernmental commission set up a separate working group on health.

Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov expressed confidence that her work would enhance cooperation in this field. In addition, he reported that in the near future will be a new group on customs regulation.

Another important achievement in the Russian-Slovak relations was the resolution of the issues in the project for the Cyclotron Center in 
Bratislava, the decision on construction of which was made in 1996.

The cyclotron (particle accelerator, intended for physics experiments) and part of the equipment he had made in 2007 in the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna), but the building construction was suspended.

March 31, 2017 an agreement was signed between the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and the Office of Metrology, Standardization and Research in Slovakia on the transfer of ownership of the equipment of the Russian Institute. At the same time, it provides access Slovak JINR scientists to the equipment to carry out joint research and training of Slovak experts.

During the meeting, the IPC signed a number of agreements:

The complement to a cooperation agreement in the field of education, providing for the allocation of quotas 200 Slovak students a nuclear;

-The program of joint actions of the Russian Federation Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic on cooperation in the field of tourism for the period 2018-2021 gg ..;

-Memorandum on cooperation between JSC "Vladimir Region Development Corporation" and the company «FESTAP sro»;

-Memorandum the start of production of medical equipment in the Russian Federation;

- Memorandum of Understanding between the Academy of standardization, metrology and certification Universitetom them. Mateya Bela in Banská Bystrica;

-Soglashenie on cooperation between the Slovak-Russia Business Council, and the Russian company "Velomotors";

The Meeting of the signing of the final protocol XVIII of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Slovak Republic.

Substantial interest in developing cooperation with Slovakia shows Russian small and medium-sized businesses. This is well illustrated by the example of yesterday's business forum, which was held at the site of REC. Establishing new contacts in the future we will continue to support through business missions, exhibitions and conventions
