Russian Industry And Trade Ministry Will Consider The Possibility Of Placing Production Facilities In Serbia, One Of The Free Economic Zones

 Delegation of Russian Industry and Trade Ministry under the leadership of the First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Gleb Nikitin visited Belgrade (Republic of Serbia) on an official visit.

Within the framework of his working visit held talks with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, co-chair of the Intergovernmental Russian-Serbian Committee for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Co-operation Ivica Dacic and Minister of Economy of the Republic of Srpska Goran Knezevic.

During the talks the sides discussed the current issues of industrial cooperation between the two countries. "Despite the fact that two-way communication is carried out practically in all key areas, particular attention was paid to the implementation of joint projects in the aviation industry, power and transport engineering. In particular, an exchange of views on the mechanisms of the deployment in Serbia, the service center for maintenance and overhaul of helicopters of the Russian and Soviet production in Central and Eastern Europe ", - said the First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, commenting on the results of the negotiations.

According to Gleb Nikitin, the Serbian side highlighted the plans for modernization and the design of new energy facilities. "Certainly, we have extensive experience in the implementation of projects in this area, and we expressed our willingness to help our colleagues," - he said.

In addition, the sides noted the successful and early realization of the project for the supply to Serbia 27 diesel trains and major components to them. "As a result, we have agreed to continue cooperation in the area of ​​heavy mechanical engineering", - said the head of the Russian delegation.

An important area, taking into account the traditionally friendly relations between Russia and Serbia, was the decision to move to a system work on building a long-term industrial cooperation. "In this vein, we have agreed to study the issue in complex industrial projects in the territory of free economic zones of Serbia. Such a zone would be a springboard for the development of foreign trade and other EU countries ", - Gleb Nikitin said.

In addition, the Serbian government announced a proposal on the possible participation of Russian companies in the privatization of more than 150 companies with state participation. As a result, it was decided to prepare a list of the most interesting objects and sent to the Russian Ministry of Industry to work out the issue.

Gleb Nikitin also attended the opening of IV «EXPO-RUSSIA SERBIA 2017" International Industrial Exhibition. The exhibition is traditionally held "Belgrade Business Forum" on the site which, together with the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture held a round table on agriculture and agricultural machinery co.
