The transport complex of the Astrakhan region is waiting for large-scale changes

On August 7, Yevgeny Dietrich made a working trip to the Astrakhan region and, together with the acting regional governor Igor Babushkin, examined a number of transport objects.

Leaders visited B.M. Astrakhan International Airport Kustodieva. The region has plans to reconstruct its air harbor. Since the beginning of this year, six new destinations have been opened from the airport: to Rostov-on-Don, Sochi, Krasnodar, Kazan, Atyrau and Baku. The subsequent development of routes requires the modernization of the airport, including the reconstruction of the runway. After examining it, Eugene Dietrich said that a final decision on the issue of reconstruction has not yet been made, but is a topic for active discussions with the leadership of the region. In turn, Igor Babushkin emphasized that the region is ready for any decision, provided that the airport will have a full-fledged ability to receive aircraft. It was also noted that in the first half of 2019, the airport increased its indicators for the number of passengers served by more than 10%. According to forecasts

The Minister and Acting Governor also took part in a public discussion of the priorities of socio-economic development of the Astrakhan region, proposed by Igor Babushkin. The meeting participants - representatives of public organizations - voiced the most important issues that, in their opinion, need to be addressed for the development of the region.

“Today the Astrakhan region is the concentration of a huge number of opportunities that must be used in order for the region to develop more,” said Eugene Dietrich. - Here, in fact, the North-South, West-East corridors intersect, which should work and provide the region with additional economic support. It is important that in your dialogue there are precisely those points that you need to focus on right now to get the maximum effect of further development. " The discussion was held on the basis of the platform discussion platform.

In addition, the minister and the acting head of the Astrakhan region visited the Karauzek border checkpoint, where they discussed the prospects for completing its construction. In 2008-2012, the first stage of the facility was built: a bus station and canopies over control lanes, in-depth inspection boxes for vehicles, a parking garage, office building, and sewage treatment plants. Since 2012, further construction has been suspended.

Eugene Dietrich noted the need to create a joint commission, as well as the need to examine the already constructed premises for their suitability for operation. “This should be done as soon as possible in order to include incomplete work in the state program for the development of checkpoints,” he said. Igor Babushkin thanked the minister for the decisions made, noting the importance of this facility for the citizens of the region. “The current, poorly adapted point in Carauzek is able to miss 400 cars per day. In fact, the cargo flow is 1 thousand cars. Both drivers and passengers experience inconvenience, ”the head of the region emphasized.

Among other things, managers inspected bridges that need urgent repairs. A question was also raised about the need to build a new bridge in the area of the village of Krasny Yar, where the pontoon ferry and ferry now operate. In total, in 2020, it is planned to include overhaul of 19 emergency regional bridges in the emerging federal program for repair and reconstruction of bridges. Design estimates are prepared for these objects. As the head of the Ministry of Transport specified, the program will be formed on the basis of information about the state of bridge structures. Now in the Astrakhan region, 160 of 283 bridges are in emergency and pre-emergency condition.

The head of the region and the federal minister also familiarized themselves with the repair of one of the busiest transport arteries of the regional center - the bridge across the Volga in the alignment of Henri Barbusse Street.

At a meeting in the regional administration, the development of the transport complex of the Astrakhan region was discussed. In particular, they talked about the development of road infrastructure in the region, the construction of a checkpoint across the Russian-Kazakh border, the reconstruction of the Astrakhan international airport, as well as the construction of an innovative training center for the crew of the Caspian region. “The region is ready to become a pilot in the implementation of the program for the reconstruction of bridge structures,” said Igor Babushkin. “We are ready to present the first parameters of this program when forming the federal budget for next year,” the Minister of Transport said in turn.

At the Caspian Institute of Sea and River Transport (a branch of the Volga State University of Water Transport), Yevgeny Dietrich examined classrooms and talked with students.
