Vasily Osmakov Took Part in a Meeting On The Promotion Of Agricultural Exports

Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, visited the production of the agro-industrial complex in the Kursk Region. As part of his working visit, he also held a meeting on the promotion of agricultural exports, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Vasily Osmakov.

Opening the meeting, Dmitry Medvedev noted the rapid growth rate of the agro-industrial complex and the positive dynamics in the development of agro-export. Deliveries of agricultural products and food abroad in 2018 amounted to almost $ 26 billion. This figure exceeded the targets set in the federal project “Export of agricultural products”, which is part of the national project “International Cooperation and Export”.

Russia is among the leading countries in the export of grain. It is very important for us, especially now, when the cleaning campaign is underway. It goes, by and large, at a good pace. There are already just very good results. On July 19, almost 11.2 million tons of grain was harvested in the Krasnodar Territory, which is 700 thousand tons more than last year. Productivity there is good - 61 centner per hectare. Harvesting is also quite good here in the Kursk region, despite the fact that the weather conditions are not ideal this year.

- said the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.

He stressed that as a result, the volume of Russian supplies and grain, and other food products - fish, meat, food products of another range. It was noted that, in addition to the volume of exports, the list of countries to which exports are made has increased.

The export geography is also expanding, including our major partners in the Asia-Pacific region. There is interest in our agricultural products both in Africa and in the countries of the Middle East. And of course, we must take advantage of all this.

- noted the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.

Dmitry Medvedev also recalled the figure in the federal project, according to which, by 2024, exports of agricultural products should grow to $ 45 billion. For these purposes in six years it is planned to allocate 407 billion rubles.
