Vladimir Putin Visited The Tver Carriage Works

January 10, during a working visit to the Tver region, Vladimir Putin visited the Tver Carriage Works (TVZ), where he got acquainted with the work of the enterprise and inspected the finished products: the city electric tram "Ivolga" and the low-floor tram. The event was attended by the Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov .

The General Director of TVZ Andrey Solovei told the President about the production indicators and effectiveness of measures of state support. Also, the head of state was shown the two-story passenger cars produced on the site. At the end of the review of production capacities of the enterprise, Vladimir Putin met with factory workers and answered their questions.

He noted that after the production decline, which was observed from 2014 to 2016, the enterprise turned out to be a plus.

Last year, already net profit amounted to more than half a billion - 546 million rubles. This is a very good indicator, and the tempo is very good, -

stressed the head of Russia.

The president said that due to the cancellation of VAT on long distance transport from January 1, 2017 to January 1, 2030, the freight companies released funds for the purchase of wagons and the renewal of the entire rolling stock. In 2017, the passenger company purchased 307 wagons, and this year it is planned to purchase about 600. In addition, in support of production, the possibility of delivering rolling stock - both trams and wagons - abroad is being discussed.

Vladimir Putin highly appreciated the products produced at the enterprise, especially noting the electric train "Oriol", capable of competing with "Swallow".
