"VOLGABAS" Plans To Expand The Lineup Of Unmanned Vehicles On The Modular Platform "MATR? SHKA"

On October 31, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Alexander Morozov paid a working visit to the Vladimir region. Together with Governor Svetlana Orlova, he inspected the Volgabas plant in Sobinsky district. The event was also attended by the first deputy head of the region Alexey Konyshev , vice-governor Renat Chagaev, heads of structural subdivisions of the regional administration and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, deputy chairman of the Legislative Assembly Olga Khokhlova, head of Sobinsky district administration Alexander Razov and general director of Bakulin Motors Group LLC Alexey Bakulin.

The delegation inspected the production sites and evaluated the finished products of the new enterprise, which plans to reach full production capacity in December this year.

Alexander Morozov noted that the Volgabas plant in Sobinsky district is a vivid example of quality support for investors.

It is important that the economic policy of the Vladimir region is aimed not only at attracting investors, but also at integrating other enterprises, including small ones, that act as providers of services, materials and components -

said Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia.

To date, more than 30 local companies work in cooperation with Volgabas, and this list is constantly being replenished with new partners.

The new enterprise promises to become a full-fledged research and production complex, where the production of buses will be organically combined with innovative design. At present, robotic lines are prepared, test and commissioning works are carried out. The welding process at the plant will be fully automated, which will ensure high speed and stable quality of work.

The main products of the production complex will be buses of various classes and destinations, including promising developments - gas engine, electric and unmanned vehicles. In the next two years, it is planned to expand the lineup of UAVs on the modular platform MatrEshka and to occupy a niche in foreign markets. Now unmanned buses are tested on the testing grounds of Moscow and the Far East. To enter public roads, it is necessary to enact appropriate legislation.

Financial injections into the implementation of the first stage of this strategic investment project amount to 3.6 billion rubles. The design capacity of the production complex at full load will be up to 1200 buses a year. To date, the company employs 250 people, with the output to full capacity it is planned to create 650 jobs.

During his visit to the Vladimir region, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Alexander Morozov also visited the Kovrov Electromechanical Plant where, together with Governor Svetlana Orlova, held a working meeting on the development of industry and import substitution in the 33rd region. In addition, the Deputy Minister has found in his busy work schedule a little time for a walk along the new pedestrian street of the city of Vladimir.
