The Volume Of Direct Accumulated Investment In The Russian Economy By Companies From Germany Reached $ 18 Billion

 October 12, 2017, Sochi hosted a meeting between the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and representatives of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy: the owners, chairmen of the board and executive directors of a number of major German concerns. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.

Vladimir Putin stressed that Germany occupies a significant place in the Russian trade turnover.

Turnover in 2016 amounted to 40.7 billion dollars, and the amount of direct accumulated investment in the Russian economy by companies from Germany reached 18 billion dollars. In the current year, the growth of bilateral trade was noted at once by 25%, investments in the first quarter of this year alone were 312 million, and for the whole of last year there were 225 million ,

quoted the President.

According to the head of the state, in Russia there are over 5 thousand enterprises with the participation of German capital, where 270 thousand Russian citizens are employed, and the total turnover of these enterprises exceeds 50 billion dollars. Against the backdrop of economic recovery, opportunities for business development in Russia are growing. The state is improving the legislative base for removing excessive administrative barriers on the way of entrepreneurs, including small and medium-sized businesses.

The President noted that Russia faces the task of bringing the level of small and medium business to 40% by 2030.
